In a close game the Caracas Leones got by the Detroit Iron Gloves by the score
of 8 to 6.

Steve Finley made sure the Caracas fans enjoyed themselves.  He hit a single
in the 1st inning, emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 13th of
the season) in the 5th inning and laced a base-hit in the 7th inning.  For
the game Caracas out-hit Detroit 12 to 9.  

Steve Reed(3-4) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Scot
Shields recorded his 6th save.  Julian Tavarez(3-1) was the losing pitcher in
relief.  

The Caracas ballclub's record now stands at 41-37.  With this loss, Detroit
has a 4-6 record of late, 41-37 overall.
